Slate is a big, strong, good looking gelding that has been fun to have in our barn. He is very easy going and is primarily used as a ranch horse.   We started using him at brandings last spring and he quickly became a go-to horse for us. He really showed his ability doctoring cattle in the pasture over the summer- tracks a cow well, holds the rope patiently and can do it over and over with an even demeanor.  Slate has a lot of experience as a ranch horse and has expressed some natural ability as a head and/or breakaway horse.
